Graduated from the Faculty of Economics, majoring in Accounting, at the University of Indonesia in 1989, Bona began his career in the Banking and Investment Industry focusing in Treasury.
Bona is involved in many art, culture and music activities in the community he is in. Having moved to the United States due to his wife's duty at the World Bank, Bona is active in a variety of activities to promote the art and culture of Indonesia to the community in the US, especially around Washington D.C. area.
Bona is involved in an organization called IKPA-USA or Indonesian Kids Performing Arts in the United States of America as a chairman in 2012.
He also established the Indonesian Jazz Corner (IDJC)-USA, an organization that is created to accommodate and promote Indonesian musicians and Jazz music lovers who resides in the United States.
Aside from art & culture, during the Indonesia election years, Bona served as a Member of the Election Committee in Washington D.C. in 2013 – 2014.
Bona is married to Francisca Hutabarat, who is also graduated from the University of Indonesia in the year 1991. They are blessed with two beautiful and talented children, Audrey and Gerard.
